Excellent book full of detailed, well organized, and pertinent information. Had to knock off two stars for all the tiresome SJW commentary, however. The text is full it. For instance, the author spends an entire, non sequitur paragraph explaining that Thomas Jefferson’s “ethic” (no really, the author puts that word in quotes!) involved forced labor. You mean he owned slaves? You’re kidding me! Next you’ll be telling me that Washington was a member of the landed gentry and that once upon a time women couldn’t vote. Not sure what that has to do with growing trees. Not unless you’re making a point of spreading manure.If you can tolerate these textual “amendments” the book is definitely worth reading. Maybe we’ll see the non-bearing thematic branches pruned out of a later edition.
